Attached to this article you will find the files that will enable you to create your own Nz120 J5 Sheep Wagon in 0.4mm ply.
Three files are provided; The first is a cutting template where the laser will cut right through the ply, the second is the raster template where the laser will score a line. The third is a cutting template for the side and end strapping that I did in 0.025 Mylar on the original. Also included is a quick "HowTo" and a license that controls the distribution of these files. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU READ IT! A more user friendly version is included on the "Read More" link below.
If you are unable to do so, I am able to provide a sheet of parts for $25 (includes material, cutting and postage). Contact me here if you are interested.
I will soon update this article with a photo essay detailing how the wagon can be assembled, but please dont let that stop you! Feel free to have a go and see how you get on....and let others know! I originally envisaged the wagon to be done in styrene, but had problems with "melt" from the laser. However, try it if youd prefer....you may need to redraw it a bit to accomodate this, maybe by spreading the pieces apart across the sheet. If you do redraw it, post the results back so we can all share!
Now the fine print:
- These are not kits! This process will create for you a set of parts which will help you create an J5 Sheep Wagon in NZ120 scale. As such, certain bits remain for the builder to do. You will need some form of thin wire to include the rodding as well as a suitable chassis. I believe the Head Druff over at Motorised Dandruff has had success with a converted Peco chassis.
