Ok, taking up MD's challenge I hereby submit a photo of a couple of Trackgang wagons I've been working on (an Lb and a Kp).  Both wagons I've assembled using 70 degree solder.  They just need finishing off with addtion of some hand grabs, etc and a good painting.  I've been quite impressed with the ease of assembly of both kits.  Still to assemble is a Ks wagon, which I hope to get started on shortly.  Once these are finished I need to finish off the Fm van that has been kicking around for far to long.

Apologies for the state of the work bench.

Nicely done wagons Weka ! You're obviously used to soldering low melt. What paint did you use on your 9mm(?) wagons in the background ?

For a minute there, looking at those larger wagons, I thought someone had found some new, excellent wheels for NZ120/ TT scale!

Damn.

Thanks for the comments.  They happen to be the first wagons I've made using low melt solder.  Some years ago I did make a railmaster Lc using standard 60/40 solder which turned out to be more of wielding exercise than soldereing, but it worked! The 9mm underframe in the background I've used araldite (and next time they will be soldered).  The La bodies in the back ground haven't been painted yet.  They are from von Strapp and were cast with pigment in the resin.

It's been a while since I last updated this thread.  Having seen the pictures of Peter's Fm van build has prompted me back into action onto my one that has been kicking around for far to long.  I'll blame the delay on an excursion into the other 9mm (and almost being excommunicated for wanting to build a recabed Dg).  I'll post some pics once the Fm is finished.  So far it been good kit to assemble.  I just wish there were a few more roof vents on the etch, having spent a fair amount of time searching on the floor the piece that just went flying out of the tweezers.  I have also purchased replacement bogies to replace the etched examples.

The Kp and Lb wagons have been painted with indifferent results.  Next time I think I'll use the airbrush.  Also finshed assembling a Ks wagon and that is awaiting an apointment with the paint shop.
