Here's a few pic's of the work in progress.

Alot of bits too add,

Are the CET wagons the same as the South Island CE coal wagons except that the CET have roof covers?

And the model is looking excellent, well done.

Thats looking great!

Let me know if any detail is still uncertain and I'll wonder over to the Mount and take some more pic's.

Thanks again guys for the comments,as for the CE/CET wagon will try do a bit more tonight, I think you maybe right Gibbs they are the same wagon, as for pics Russ I may take you up on that offer,I'll try to get most of it done then cut and trim bits accordingly,I have a question how much detail is too much? I was going to model the tripple valve, piping and res tanks aswell as part of the brake pipe and door detail underneath.

Here is a few more pics first of mesh lab checks model for holes and etc..

I dont know why it changes colours in the program but ill have to read up on it.

this shows abit of door detail.

I finally found how to get better pic's,

Last one,

the ladder is not working out lol.A few more nights and it should be ready for a quote for printing,Its knida like your pic Russ, I must remember to change the headstocks around,

Ladders check. Headstocks check. Res check. Some more fine-err detail check. A few more bits brake pipe tap, mounts for bogies and control bits for doors.

most of the bits I have tried to make so the push together and a little bit of glue should hold them.

I may have to go to a model shop and buy some bits and bobs I found out why it changes colours in meshlab it was lighting if anyone was interested lol,

Been abit lazy the last few nights. My baby turned 3 today so been alil busy off the comp, here's a new pic slowly getting there.

I might lose the pipe on the side yet, Just need to put the brakepipe on the end and make a few more adjustments to the ends for bogies and couplers, I dont know if I'm going to use these bogies,I might just order some from Russ,

Hi all had to redo the Dc a few times and I must say it looks better then the pics I posted,I have put a lot more detail into it then the CET wagon, taking my time with this as people tend too look a locos more, I'll post pic with bits and ask weather the should be like this or that ie vents etc.... as there so many different variants of the loco,

One more question does anyone have a pic of the radiator end of Dc,From above would be awesome,

This CAD-based modelling has so much potential. It is more precise than anything built by hand. I look forward to the time I can get all the key bits I need to make a whole train in NZ120.

Here is one of the latest pic's of the CET/CE,there is still alot of finer detail I want too try too squeez in,

Too make it a CE wagon just leave the top off, It's a complete CAD redraw.Have also done bogies and under Door detail well as much as can bee seen from the pic's that Russ supplied thanks again Russ.

There is a shop here in perth that has some tt wheel set's so when I do finally finish this and it is here in the flesh I'll see what they look like.

Here is an update...sorry about the slow work my wife and I just had a new addition to the famliy and have been getting retrained on nappy and bottle duties, nothing like the smell of a dirty nappy?... I mean napalm in the morning and I'm gearing back up to head back to port hedland,

I've managed to upload a few bits and bobs too shapeways, but they are currently unavailable for printing and viewing,I've just really been testing to see if the detail that I have tried to model will be printed and been looking at the cost of printing the model as a whole.

I up loaded the unfinished Dc and the shell will be over $100 that is the model printed with ultra fine detail, it will be more with the fuel tank bogie side frames,

I also thought of uploading the models in bits so people could pick and choose what parts they wanted,

i.e.... to print the short hood the was about $7nz and that's just the shapeways price no additional charges, I've also managed to upload a wheelset scaled to nz120 and to the NMRA standards with a twist I'll upload pics when I can,

just a few of the thousands of things going through my head.

Cheers
