Good day all.
I have been hunting the interweb for information about the silver star, there seams to be very little info and pic's about. I'm looking at making a full set. Now as Im a bit off the beatin track [France] I cant even pop into a local shop.
Does any one have some info, even some pic's would be great.
Cheers all.
Pete.

Have a set of S scale plans for the 4 different carriages of the Silver Star. They are avaliable from NZ Railway and Locomotive Society, Passenger Car Series No. 15.

Does the NZRLS actaully ahve a decent list of what they have avaliable?

I knew karl Morris had got hold of some plans ages ago, but knowing him thye could have come from anywhere.

Also, the Silver Star carriages had corregated sides which could be difficult to model. Etching would be possibly the only way to do it.

tis funny how this was suppose to be the best train we had, but has never been modelled. well not that I have seen.
The model distance will be about 2 mtrs and above head hight, when I make the layout. So a less than perfect model I will be happy with. Now I just need to finish the DA's and Fiats to match up.

i used corrugated HO aluminium 'roofing' material for my GT way back in the dark ages. You could wrap and araldite it around a shaped wooden former and as there is no fluting around the windows, this section could be a match-painted paper or thin plasticard overlay. As  could the doors.
