Scale tool that might be handy

A number of years ago when I was doing 3D modeling for a game company I needed a tool to assist with scaling model cars etc to and from various scales. Eventually the application took on a life of its own. It works with XP, but hasn't been tested with Win 7/ It also requires the VB6 Runtimes. Both links are on my web page (which hasn't been updated for a while).

I'm going through my NZ Locomotive 1/64 scale drawings and converting them to 1:120 and remembered I had made this ages ago.

Hi Guys

Has anybody tested tis on Windows 7? I'm looking at upgrading the tool with a couple of additional features and will possibly be looking for a couple of beta testers. Also I'm thinking of changing the code to .net.

Cheers

Bob

Hi beakaboy. Could you please post a screenshot of the error message, or write down what the error says. Also please let me know what operating system you use on your computer.

Not sure if the following works with Win 7 as I don't have that yet.

For XP download the file below and unpack tabctl32.ocx into your c:/windows/system32 folder

http://modelsfromthemist.com/download/tabctl32.rar

Then click on Start>Run and type in  (without speech marks) "regsvr32 tabctl32.ocx"

That should work. It's been a long time since I made the app and had to install it manually. Let me know if this works.

The biggest problem has been Microsoft and their application and runtime changes over the years it takes a while to catch up with them.

@beakaboy. Good to hear that it worked.

@greytrainz. That's super. That will save me converting the app to Win 7.

Cheers, Bob
