I am presently constructing one of Am_Fet's impressive little IA container flats, and would appreciate some help with details.

I am a little unsure about the brake arrangements. Looking at photos, they seem to have a rather large brake reservoir on one side of the wagon – does anybody have a detail photo of this arrangement?

Also, what is the best method to making a handbrake wheel for these wagons (and other wagons with handbrake wheels like Fm vans)? Or are they available for purchase somewhere. I've looked on the TG website, but they don't seem to have brake wheels... :-S

No other than a similar overall length, the UK and IA are very different designs.

Then why was it said to look on NZ120 to see the underside of a Uk, when someone else asked for detailing of the underside of an IA.

So to try and answer the original questions...

As far as I'm aware there is only a single air reservoir on an IA, this on the opposite side to the brake wheel. I have a few IA photos, but no detail photos so can't help much more here.

As for brake wheels I used an HO scale one on the IC wagon, it's a little over scale but doesn't look to bad.

I'm looking at getting some photo etching done for the IC which will include brake wheels, but nothing is concrete with this as yet, so don't go holding your breath.

BIG FOOT for the IA biulders, if you do similar cut out you can drop it by 1 mm, not much I no but if you have a 9'6" on a IA behind a loco it makes all the diferance. Hope this helps.

If an IC (60')is just a longer wagon than an IA(50'), but have similar details you could check NZMRG Journal Dec 2002 for photos of IC's, if that helps.
