I don't do New years resolutions, but I'm determined to have a bit of a clean-up of half finished projects on my work bench (so I can start some more !).
First up is my Trackgang Hc build. A nice kit, but one of the most fiddly kits I've done from the range so far. I had a bit of a false start after not reading the instructions properly (!), and mucked up the chassis length. This wasn't overly clear in the instructions, as the chassis assembles a bit differently than most other 4 wheelers ( the instructions have since been ammended by Trackgang Products). The fiddly part of the build is the 4 curved roof supports. These need to be sized and added carefully. I slipped with the iron and melted the end of one, so I then wimped out and used super glue gel to add them. There's a bit of flash that needs to be removed from the top and bottom of each side panel, and this takes a bit of time to do, but the finished model looks better with it done. Trackgang kindly supply wire for brake hoses & hand grabs, and brass strip for end ladders - take the time to add them. I finished my wagon with a spray of red/brown metal undercoat, paper wagon & tare numbers, a light airbrush weathering, and a final dullcoat spray. All in all a nice kit.
