If you have purchased a Chosen Scale Dc etch kit, but haven't constructed it, check your kit etch.

As you can see from the pic, the etch has been reversed, and therefore, the long hood detail is on the wrong side. Main spotting point is the wording is back-to-front. Do not build with this etch.

I recommend you contact Andrew Wells at nz120@xtra.co.nz for a solution. Request either a new etch or refund.

Cheers

coasterboy. I would assume as per the instructions that some experience with soldering is helpful in putting one of these kits together. As per instructions a lot of the initial construction is folding the brass, but then soldering the joints requires some holding 'jigs' and clean soldering work. If you over do the soldering you risk filling etch lines with solder. I haven't yet done one, so I'm sure another member who has, can comment.

I built one of these as a first etch assembly some years ago.
As long as you have patience, a steady hand, good modelling eyesight, and have some "fine" soldering experience
you should manage.

Good modelling!

My first serious etch assembly was one of the da's. I had no decent prior experience appart from incredibly poor soldering of wires.

My advice is to get hold of some decent flux (try Woodsworks) and carefully follow the instructions. using a pencil to draw lines round the stuff that you don't want soldered.

Oh, and I managed to do mine with no jigs either somehow, or burning any fingers.
