    Hi Lewis, probably the wrong forum to be asking but how did you find the 1:64 scale DXR in your blog off shapeways? Did the primer coat cover the roughness of the WSF material? Did you end up selling the body when you changed scales?

    Hi Eurostar,

    Yep the primer coat did a reasonably good job, but I recommend cleaning and sanding the shell as much as possible (without removing the details) as possible. I only got as far as putting handrails etc on and the NZ Rail blue before I sold the shell and chassis to Russel Jones. I’m not sure what he’s done with it 🙂

    Thanks for that. May look at scratch building one if a shape ways sale doesn’t appear… Plenty of tricky angles on the cab so was tilting towards the shape ways model but was a bit hesitant with the WSF material but good to hear it cleans up ok.
