I'm a fool for falling in love...

With Narrow Gauge.

Hello Kiwi's!  [Can I call you that?]

An introduction is in order:

I'm Ron Wm. Hurlbut on the oposite side of the world from New Zealand [more or less] in Toronto, Ontario, Dominion of Canada.

I had an HO Trainset as a kid, but dropped out of the hobby for twenty-odd years.  I rejoined a few years ago [almost 10-years now] and I've been floundering about ever since.

I've dabbled in On30 and had a hand in developing Module Standards for that scale/gauge.

New Module Standard

A new "Book" to document the new module standard being developed by some members has been created under the Documents menu item.

New Module Standard

This document (known in this system as a Book) describes the new module standard.  The standard is currently being developed so this document is subject to change.

Members of this site can edit this content and add new pages as various parts of the new standard are agreed.  Any debate on what those standards should be should occur in the forum discussion here.

The original standard is documented here.

Standards

NZ120 is built to a scale of 1:120, otherwise known as TT scale.

The New Zealand prototype runs on narrow-guage track 3 feet 6 inches (1067mm) gauge.  In TT scale this works out close enough to 9mm, or standard guage N-scale track.  We therefore use standard N guage track, wheels and mechanisms.

The nearest thing to standards or guidelines is set out in the original module standards.
